首先，在全身情況許可的情況下停用或替換引起牙齦增生的藥物，這是對本病最根本的治療。

然後進行常規的牙周治療，去除局部刺激因素，局部沖洗上藥。

對於重症患者，經過上述治療無好轉，可採用手術切除增生的牙齦，術後應嚴格控制口腔衛生，維護口腔健康，定期復查，防止復發。
