Overview

  • Early this year, Psyonix announced that Rocket League would be getting a Rocket Pass as part of a larger expansion that would also include other games in addition to Rocket League. In comparison to Fortnite's pass, the Rocket Pass is a cosmetic item unlocking system that allows players to progress through tiers and unlock increasingly rare cosmetic items rather than earning them exclusively through drops and loot boxes, which cannot be opened unless players purchase keys or earn decryptors during special events. However, whereas both the Rocket Pass and Fortnite's pass are secondary progression systems, the Rocket Pass is primarily a cosmetic item unlocking system that allows players to progress through tiers as they earn cosmetic items.

Free mode and premium mode will be divided into two categories, with the latter providing significantly more cosmetic items at each tier than the former.  Players will be able to distinguish between the two modes as a result of this.  A premium pass for the game will be available for purchase for $10, according to game director Scott Rudi, who announced the news during an E3 meeting last week.

The Rocket Passes that you purchase will allow you to progress through the levels and level it up to approximately Tier 70, at which point you will be able to unlock new cosmetic items and, on rare occasions, decryptors as you progress through the levels. As an alternative, premium Rocket Pass holders will be able to unlock an infinite Rocket League credits of pro tiers, which will allow them to continue earning randomized Painted and Certified versions of the same cosmetics even after they've reached the maximum level of the game. This will serve as a nice carrot on a stick for those who are committed to completing the entire set of cards, especially when you consider that you will not receive duplicate cards until you have completed the entire set of cards. Free mode and premium mode will be divided into two categories, with the latter providing significantly more cosmetic items at each tier than the former. Players will be able to distinguish between the two modes as a result of this.  After only a few months, the current Rocket Pass and all of its rewards will be decommissioned and replaced by a new Rocket Pass, which will include an entirely new set of cosmetic items that you can level up and earn as you progress through the game as you progress through the story.

Everything on the above-mentioned list is expected to be included in the Summer Feature Update, which is expected to be released in July or August of this year, based on current expectations. There's also support for cross-platform play with the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game also features an updated, infinite leveling system that doesn't require exponential amounts of experience to progress through the levels, unlike its predecessor. The Rocket Pass, when used in conjunction with the Rocket Pass, ensures that players receive a significantly more consistent stream of cosmetic bonuses than they otherwise would have gotten. For as long as I keep my regular paint job and wizard hat on, I won't be able to communicate with anyone else. Sometime it is beneficial to keep things as straightforward as possible in order to avoid overcomplicating things.
