- The invention relates to a slab cutting machine for cast workpieces in a continuous casting assembly comprising a roller table , on which a cast slab is to be separated transversely in relation to the transporting direction thereof. The machine has a cantilever , which is slab and can be moved out of a bridge in a synchronous movement with the cast slab during the cutting operation, said cantilever having a cutting torch at the front end thereof, a cantilever drive unit and a clamping mechanism . The cantilever drive unit with the extendable and retractable cantilever . The synchronous movement of the cantilever with the cast slab and the subsequent synchronization of the clamping mechanism is , in order to raise the latter slightly.
