Shiba Inus display cat-like agility that makes adventure fun, but with the spirited and faithful companionship of a dog. The Japanese use three words to describe the Shiba Inu’s traits: kaani-i (spirited boldness), ryosei (good nature), and soboku (alertness). These traits make up the intelligent, strong-willed, and delightful breed. While they are suitable for urban and surburban settings, exercise is important to the Shiba Inu and plenty of time should be given to both physical and mental exercise routines.
