There have been numerous studies on a wine over the years that have found benefits to a person’s health. This does not mean you should drink a bottle a day. When drank in moderation, there are wine benefits. Studies have shown a connection between a better quality of life and the consumption of wine. The wine was also used in ancient times when water was scarce as a need and became the symbol of substance and life. In early times wine was used to sustain a person’s life. Quantity is important when talking about the advantages of wine. Most studies indicate a glass a day or a glass a week is what is needed to enjoy the benefits. Studies have not shown health benefits associated with binge drinking wine. If you drink it slowly, in moderation, and enjoy every small sip; here are some of the health benefits of drinking wine. 

 

Antioxidants

If you are looking for a way to fight off diseases like cancer, consider drinking a glass of wine. 

Antioxidants are found in wine. Studies indicate that white wine has equal and sometimes even higher amounts of antioxidants than what is found in red wine. It is intriguing because many individuals believe there are more health benefits when drinking red wine in moderation than white. 

 

Immune System

When you purchase wine from a wine shop and drink a glass a day it can do wonders. You should still take any vitamins you are taking daily. However, a glass of wine a day is good for your immune system and can help fight off infections. Excessive intake can cause negative effects that can result in poor health.

 

Increased Bone Density 

Bones grow brittle as we age. Drinking milk is one method to increase the amount of calcium, or you can drink a little bit of wine. There are high amounts of silicon in red wine. This is good for the density of bone minerals. Drinking a glass of red wine can lower the chances of developing osteoporosis.

 

Stroke 

Drinking wine in moderation can assist in preventing blood clots. Wine is a natural way to thin the blood and breaks clots that could cause a stroke. Lowering the risk of blood clots appears most beneficial for females. Red wine has phenols in it that act as blood thinners. Phenols can be compared to aspirin in the way it acts. Heavy consumption, however, can increase the risk of a heart attack. Moderation is the key to enjoying this benefit.

 

Heart Disease

Tannins that are found in red wine have procyanidins in them. Phenols can nullify free radicals. This is effective in preventing heart disease. Research has shown enhanced health for blood vessels with moderate consumption of wine that leads to better blood flow. This, in turn, lowers the risk of heart disease.
