Once you've chosen a site, you have to make a decision what your main educational resource will be. Basically, you have three options: universities, private schools. or hiring a Chinese Tutor. Here, we will look at the pros and cons of each of these:

The biggest advantage of choosing a university is that you have an experienced teacher, a well-organized curriculum, and the possibility to study both language classes and degrees. You may also have the option of earning credits for the language courses you study. For example, if you study for a year, you can later transfer these credits to an education program at another university.

It is worth noting here that the teaching methodology of most Chinese Tuition teachers is very different from that of their colleagues. Teaching mainly revolves around communicative teaching, where the teacher makes the student the center of the classroom. Teachers who follow a communicative curriculum are more likely to emphasize student participation in class discussions, role plays, and other similar student-centered activities.

Chinese Tuition Singapore teachers, on the other hand, tend to use a "pour water into a jar" approach. In other words, teaching is likely to be based on lectures with minimal interaction between teacher and student and student. Wherever you choose to study, this is probably the type of education you should have. This makes it even more important to practice as much as possible outside of the lesson.

Another potential issue on this topic that we have not talked about is motivation. University students who choose to study abroad for a semester or two to meet the language requirements of their university education may not be as motivated to study as you are. While you may be serious about showing up on time, listening to the teacher, taking notes, and practicing what you're learning, studying abroad may be interested in developing a social life. This can indeed lead not only to lower overall class performance, but also to lower motivation for your teacher. How would you feel as a teacher if half or more of your class seemed more interested in socializing than learning?

Another disadvantage of studying at university is that a large class with many students can mean that your curriculum is complex. In other words, your teacher should teach in the general public or the secondary level as a whole, rather than teaching individuals. Those who are ahead of average students may get bored because they do not feel challenged, while those who are behind may get even further behind because the teacher may not have the opportunity to work with them one-on-one for to catch up.

Finally, universities usually have high prices with fairly expensive tuition. Looking at different universities, you might be amazed at how cheap the tuition fees are compared to western universities. However, a typical private school (see below) is generally much cheaper than the average university.

On the other hand, private schools offer more benefits than universities. In addition to experienced teachers, classes are smaller and tuition fees are much cheaper.
