Except for the last train of the day, shuttles or buses depart approximately 10 minutes after the arrival of each bullet train from Tokyo to Liyama Station. It's vital to know that during peak seasons, such as New Year's, Chinese New Year, and Japan Public Holidays, it's best to buy your return Shinkansen tickets before arriving in Nozawa Onsen because they usually sell out. You can also take the Hokuruku Shinkansen directly from Liyama Station, which takes about 1 hour 50 minutes, and then a 40-minute Nozawa Onsen Shuttle or Liner to Chuo Bus Terminus.
