Things to do during Abu Dhabi city tour

The capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abu Dhabi, is frequently eclipsed by Dubai, which is an hour away and far bigger and glitzier.

But, Abu Dhabi is a fantastic spot to spend a few days because it frequently costs much less than Dubai and more and more tourist attractions are opening all the time!

In addition, the city is very safe, and while though Arabic is the official tongue, a sizable expat population means that English is also commonly spoken. Let me share with you my favourite tourist destinations, eateries, and hotels during Abu Dhabi city tour.

ATTRACTIONS IN ABU DHABI CITY TOUR

Mosque Sheikh Zayed in Abu Dhabi city tour

The Grand Mosque, also known as Sheikh Zayed Mosque, is Abu Dhabi's most well-known landmark, and for good reason—it is breathtaking!

Many people consider this mosque to be the most beautiful in the entire world due to its white marble walls, 82 exquisitely crafted domes, and mirrored pools in the courtyard.

You must dress correctly because it is a sacred site of worship. Women who need to be covered up will be given an abaya to wear if necessary. They must be covered from their wrists to their ankles and have their hair covered.

Desert Safari in Abu Dhabi city tour

A desert safari is a must-do on Abu Dhabi city tour! A desert safari is a tremendously enjoyable excursion, and the desert is only around an hour away. You can go on morning, evening, or even overnight desert camping expeditions!

The evening safari, which typically lasts from 3 pm to 9 pm, is by far the most popular since it allows visitors to see the truly spectacular desert sunset. It includes pick-up and drop-off, sandboarding, camel riding, holding a falcon (the national bird of the UAE), and a BBQ buffet and belly dancing performance in a tent set up in the style of a Bedouin in the middle of the desert.

Abu Dhabi Louvre

It is definitely worthwhile to see the stunning Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island, which is only ten minutes by car from the centre of Abu Dhabi, even if you are not a fan of museums. The Louvre Abu Dhabi was the first of its sort to open outside of France when it opened in 2017.

The structure itself is magnificent, and the metallic roof almost has the appearance of a cosmic dome! The latticework lets in natural light, which inside produces a lovely illusion.

The collections here are highly spectacular and span cultures from antiquity to the current day from all over the world. Moreover, they include works by Monet, da Vinci, and Van Gogh.

Yas Island in Abu Dhabi city tour

A 30-minute drive from the centre of Abu Dhabi is Yas Island, which offers a wide range of activities. There are enough theme parks to keep you entertained for a while: Ferrari World, Warner Brothers World, and Yas Water world. The fastest rollercoaster in the world, located at Ferrari World, can reach 240 km/h (150 mph), while Warner Brothers World is home to the biggest indoor theme park.

The enormous Yas Mall and the Formula One racetrack are also located on Yas Island. The Formula One is a tremendously entertaining event that takes place in Abu Dhabi city tour every November. With a variety of nightlife alternatives accessible, the nearby Yas Marina also has a pleasant atmosphere in the evening.
