These adorable flowers add an element of beauty to nature itself! The sight of large rocks alongside delicate flowers brings forth a truly unique image. Witnessing three major landscape transformations in just the first two days—moving from alpine scrub woodlands to grasslands and then moraines—is a remarkable aspect of this trip. On one side, you'll come across a lush valley while on the other, an arid one awaits your exploration. One route takes you up towards the summit allowing you to overcome obstacles while the other provides everything you were seeking for—an exhilarating descent! From the pass, magnificent sights such as Indrasan, Deo Tibba and even Indra kila can be spotted.
With phenomenal views across Hampta pass and ChandraTal lake, this is a great trek. Your journey will start from Manali 2050 ft above sea level and reach Jobri via road from here Jobri 3100 ft above sea level will take you to Chika.
Hampta pass is a very high altitude (4268m) trekking & camping spot, from there you head towards Siaguru (4000m). After passing Chatru — 38 km away and situated at an elevation of 3100– you’ll come to the stunning natural beauty of Chandratal lake ( 4270 meters in height). This path will take you directly to yours at 3600m—your base camp, Balu ka Ghera.
That might include all the trekking excursions permits and camping fees required for the journey. Carry your IDs along with copies of your driver’s license, voter ID, or passport (with the visa page for international travelers), and passport-size photos. Medical Fit & Waiver Certificates are must things before you leave for the expedition.
Manali: The town of Manali is nestled in the Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh and apart from trekking has its own set of reasons to be a famous tourist attraction. Clearly defined snow capped towering mountain range which is complemented with serene waters of Beas river make the place a fantastic holiday destination. Ancient nomadic hunters roamed the valley and were followed by shepherds and farmers, who have turned most of the land into an apple orchard. Chika: Chika is the point where your great trek begins after a sequence of twist turns from Manali side towards Jobri. Its positioned at 3100m altitude , an idyllic place featuring dense foliage, towering cliffs, rolling meadow , rapids in abundance, and splendid waterfalls . Balu Ka Ghera: Another place is called ’Balu ka Ghera’ or also referred to as “Heaps of Sand'', which makes for good tenting. Here there are beautiful meadows with dotted marigolds and sheepfold in the meadows, and wild horses roaming around. Reports indicate there are also brown bears in the region and they hibernated throughout the cold winter months. At the trek’s base camp, you can see snow in the distance and be right next to crystal clear lakes. Hampta Pass: Rising majestically to a height of 4268 meters, the Hampta Pass is a large plateau at the valley's summit. With a view of the Himalayan highlands to the east and Spiti to the west, one can see the spectacular Indrakila, Deo Tibba, and Indrasen peaks from this location. All around you are mountains covered in snow, enveloping you in the beauty of the natural world. Glacier valleys and stunning views may be seen along the road leading to the Hampta Pass.
Siaguru: A popular camping location for hikers traveling to Chandratal Lake, Siagoru is situated after the Hampta Pass and a little descent. This location's gorgeous mountains, snowy sceneries, breathtaking streams, and flowing rivers make it a highly prized route at a height of 4000 meters.
Another characteristic of the Hampta Pass is the abundance of meandering streams and waterfalls. Additionally, you will have to cross multiple streams on your trip, sometimes without shoes. The voyage will be interesting after dipping your feet in the ice-cold water.
The most memorable part of this excursion is walking through snow passes and snow bridges. The bubbling sound of the water running beneath the snowy surface may be heard as you stroll along the streams throughout the winter. This chance comes around only once in a lifetime.
